SERC Home School Parents,
Due to predicted inclement weather conditions I am rescheduling the first home school Ichthyology class scheduled for tomorrow. We will reschedule for Wednesday, March 27th at the same time. This means all three classes will be in back to back weeks. I will simply change the schedule to the following:
Ichthyology (Karen McDonald) Wednesdays (5-7 yr. 9-10 am, 8-12 yrs. 1-:30 am & 1:30-3 pm)
March 20th– Introduction to Ichthyology: We’ll start this block of classes with an introduction to fish, fish anatomy, and types of fish and fish families.
March 27th– Osmosis, Buoyancy, and Scale Aging: Students will understand the physiological adaptations that allow fish to live in an aquatic environment from water balance to buoyancy.
April 3rd– Fisheries and Sustainable Fishing: Using models and hands-on exercises we will explore how humans use fisheries and what it means to have sustainable fisheries.
